Today we had two new babies...She-devil had a strapping black and white bull - yet to be named he was the size of a month old calf!!!
Brooke had our first heifer calf of the season. Hers too is black and white and yet unnamed.
These two are out of Rambo our #1 herd sire. He puts either a heart on their back sides or a crest on their heads...both of these have crests. I will try to get to pics this week.
I am winding up the last week of High School Musical practice for Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. My kids are awesome. They were worried about having it ready by Sunday but they have really pulled it together.
I am three weeks away from Top Hat Playhouse performances of Alone Together Again. I am directing this too. I have been running morning practices - work - evening practices and then bed.
So how do I get it all done? Well my house takes a licking but keeps on ticking...
Kent has been working nights so between being quiet so he can sleep and the crazy schedule I just haven't had much of a chance to pick up. Hopefully over Easter I can do some deep Spring cleaning.
Saturday Carrie, Natalie, and I sent Shirley off on her whirlwind trip to D.C. She was so excited and it was nice to be a part of her experience. She has yet to call and check in - I am assuming she is just so busy having fun!
We moved horses around today and have 6 in the barn on baby watch. By April we should be off and running with foaling season...I love Spring.
This blog is all about life in North Dakota from this one time sort of city girl's perspective. Life on a horse and long horn cattle ranch, outdoor living, experiencing all the joys of life under the big, beautiful North Dakota sky!

I just got back from a three day Non-violent Crisis Intervention training in Bismarck. I drove down ahead of a storm and luckily didn't have to leave until the storm and its remnants passed.
People in the hotel with me were stuck since the interstate was closed...not a problem for me!
I spent one evening with a good friend at her daughter's orchestra concert. Mark Wood a famous violinist came and did a workshop and then they got to perform with him...it was pretty cool.
The remainder of the time was spent with one heck of a cold so I didn't do much else...on the plus side there were no chores or anything else that I had to leave for at night!

Spring is in the air
We have had temperatures this last week in the 30's, the sun was out until almost 7 one night last week, babies are hatching on the farm...Spring is in the air.
Although we are in for a storm AGAIN this week, I can't help but feel that the tide has turned and winter is behind us.
I'll just call this next storm a minor incident in the spring journey...its definitely not a full fledged drag you down for another 3-4 months winter storm....
And yes...the drugs I take are VERY good!
