Howling Horse Productions
Kent and I began a new adventure this fall...DJing. Howling Horse Productions went up and running in September with a slow and steady run of jobs. We play our first wedding reception tonight and this starts a packed month of Saturday's in December. We have a great light show including a 3D laser light and over 50,000 songs for your listening preference. In all the jobs we've done so far we've only had a handful of songs we don't have and we easily pick them up. It's pretty exciting. As Kent says we may have to work weekends but we're always at the party!

Westin
In my blogging yesterday I forgot another addition to our extended family.
Westin Vandale Opdahl was born in September - he joins sister Natalie, and brothers Levi and Garin. We waited a long time for him. He had several due dates starting in Late August and eventually came toward the end of September. He is a big and happy boy with a tiny little squeak and we love him. His mom sent this adorable pic that I thought I'd share.
As you can see he has a ton of hair. I tell Carrie that I don't believe I've seen any of her boys with hair as long as Westin's is. She likes to keep the boys in a buzz cut :}

Life
Today I watched a movie that said the true treasure in life is living. Well that's what I've been doing. I finished out the summer with work at the golf course and the start of school. The start of school brought the start of one-act drama season and the end of that just happened so I'm finally able to catch up.
I've baked a couple cakes...one of Kent's niece which she adored, one for a friend's one-year old, and my first sheet cakes for a wedding anniversary.
Pictured here are two from Kent's niece. She wanted a barn cake - I found the cute cupcake patterns and just went from there.
The one act crew performed The Seussification of Romeo and Juliette. We took 2nd at regionals and qualified for state. At state one of my actors - Brian Anderson was awarded a Superior Actor Award. We learned a lot from what we saw and all of the judges and will be that much more prepared next year. Good Job Guys!
My brother had his second daughter at the beginning of the month. Maleah Rae - she's beautiful as is her big sister Makenna.

I'm headed into the holiday season with love, happiness, thankfulness and the treasure of life. Hope you are able to find the same.
